CMC Communications Purchases Additional iBwave Products to alleviate 4G Project Management
MONTREAL, CANADA, October 21, 2013 — iBwave, the standard for in-building software and training, is proud to announce that CMC Communications, one of the top system integrators in Southeast Asia, has purchased additional iBwave Design licenses and associated products in order to extend its capacity to design and manage 3G and 4G indoor wireless projects in Singapore.
“Our experience with iBwave shows that it is faster and more efficient to design using the iBwave software than to perform the task manually,” says Lim Lian Swa, Group General Manager at CMC-Comms. “The easy-to-use friendly user interface also helped our engineers learn the main functionalities with ease.”
A few key features were instrumental to CMC’s decision on which products to use for their indoor wireless needs. iBwave provides the only design and planning software that supports the advanced Fast Ray Tracing propagation model, providing approximately 25% more accuracy than the more standard COST 231 based models commonly used on the market. COST 231 models typically underestimate RF signal strength, thus requiring engineers to use more antennas in order to meet operators’ key performance indicators. The increased precision of using Fast Ray Tracing in iBwave Design usually results in much lower infrastructure costs. iBwave also provides the only tool on the market that syncs to all other outdoor planning and walk test tools, ensuring easy import and export of data.

CMC Communications has purchased more iBwave Design licenses for their Singapore office in order to increase the amount of projects RF engineers can do to better support this growing market. The company has also purchased the Propagation module in order to ensure accurate network coverage and capacity prediction, using iBwave’s Fast Ray Tracing propagation model.
