MONTREAL, CANADA, JUN 23, 2015Telenor Denmark, the second largest mobile broadband operator in Denmark, has relied on iBwave's proven wireless software to design and deploy a high-performance, multi-carrier and multi-technology voice and data cellular network in Denmark’s largest indoor venue, Boxen Stadium.

Choosing iBwave was not a coincidence according to Head of Network, Kim Krogh Andersen “The last couple of years we have worked consistently on improving customer experience, and we have identified indoor solutions as a key lever in this respect. That’s why we have chosen iBwave as a vendor because we consider their tools as state of the art – and we want to provide the best possible solutions to our customers”.

Telenor used iBwave’s flagship software, iBwave Design, to deliver strong and reliable 2G, 3G and 4G connectivity for the state of the art venue. The high capacity network was built using the software’s sectorization functions in order to ensure each antenna’s capacity was used optimally. The company also relied on iBwave’s industry-standard proprietary propagation algorithm to ensure optimal coverage and capacity.

“Without a doubt, iBwave spared us many hours of work,” explains Peter Liseborg, Senior Net Planner for Telenor Denmark. “We not only built a network to support the 15,000 people that the stadium can accommodate but we also delivered it within record budget and timescales – within a third of the time when compared with conventional methods.”

“Today, mobile coverage has become an expectation at major events but delivering quality services to stadiums is not easy as there are a number of factors, such as sectorization, interference and capacity planning that need to be taken into consideration,” explains Erik Nilsson, iBwave Sales Manager for Northern Europe. “We are thrilled to have equipped Telenor Denmark with the tools that they needed to successfully design and deploy the network for this major venue.”

Danish Madonna fans can now breathe a sigh of relief as they will be able to tweet and Instagram to their hearts delight when she performs at Boxen Stadium this November.
