iBwave Now Offers Wi‑Fi Collection and On‑Site Design
Industry standard network design platform addressing the wireless industry shift to multi-technology networks
MONTREAL, CANADA, May 6, 2015 – iBwave, the global standard for in-building software and training, is delighted to announce the release of enhanced Wi-Fi capabilities in its industry standard network design software platform, enabling Wi-Fi and cellular indoor designs to be performed in a single tool. iBwave products have supported Wi-Fi since 2006 and with the technology’s increasing popularity and growth, the company is proud to now offer many new Wi-Fi features on its tablet-based application iBwave Mobile and its flagship software iBwave Design – including collection and on-site design.
With demand for indoor wireless data quickly increasing, operators are offloading data traffic to less expensive and more flexible small cell and Wi-Fi networks, especially in crowded venues. Given this shift toward multi-technology networks, iBwave has applied the thoroughness of its industry standard cellular network design software to Wi-Fi, creating a world class carrier grade Wi-Fi design platform. The company sees this release as a first step toward addressing the carrier-grade Wi-Fi network design market.

The collection tool enables seamless integration of the collected data into iBwave Design, increasing efficiency and accuracy for optimal carrier-grade Wi-Fi designs. iBwave Mobile now also offers the ability to create Wi-Fi and cellular designs directly from the field on a mobile device. This, paired with iBwave Design’s existing Wi-Fi design capabilities, means Wi-Fi and cellular networks for any venue can be planned and designed in a single file format.
